Seeing "sold out" on an airline's website or an OTA doesn't always mean every single seat is irrevocably gone. Airlines often hold back a small number of seats for elite frequent flyers, last-minute operational needs, or even for sale at higher fare buckets not displayed online. It's sometimes worth calling the airline directly or, if you're at the airport, inquiring with a gate agent (politely!). While rare, seats can open up due to no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or equipment changes.
