Myth 40: A "Non-Stop" Flight is Exactly the Same as a "Direct" Flight

These terms are frequently confused, but they mean different things. A "non-stop" flight does exactly what it says: it flies from your origin to your destination without any scheduled stops. A "direct" flight, however, can make one or more stops en route to your final destination, but you typically don't change planes. Passengers for intermediate stops may deplane and new ones may board. While better than a connection (changing planes), a "direct" flight with stops will take longer than a true non-stop. Always clarify if you prioritize the quickest journey.
