Canada’s eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) program now covers more passport holders, but the expansion comes with a caveat: many travelers still assume they’re visa-exempt. In 2025, citizens of countries newly added to the eTA list must apply online before flying—failure to do so means denied boarding.
