35. The Dock Where the Titanic Set Sail – Southampton, England

On April 10, 1912, the RMS Titanic set off from Dock 44 in Southampton, England, on what was supposed to be a triumphant maiden voyage. For many, this was the last piece of land they would ever see. Just four days later, the ship struck an iceberg and sank, claiming over 1,500 lives. Though the Titanic’s wreck lies deep in the Atlantic, the dock where it all began still exists, and visitors can stand at the very place where history’s most infamous voyage started.
