Mount Erebus, Antarctica’s most active volcano, is home to bizarre ice towers that look like alien sculptures carved by the wind. These frozen chimneys, formed by geothermal heat escaping through the ice, constantly belch steam, creating an eerie mist. With its endless fields of ice and towering structures, this frigid landscape could easily double as an outpost on an icy moon like Europa.
