Immortalized in Elvis Presley's film Blue Hawaii, the Coco Palms Resort was the epitome of Polynesian glamour from the 1950s onwards. Nestled amidst a historic coconut grove, it charmed guests with its thatched-roof bungalows, torch-lighting ceremonies, and lagoon weddings. But paradise was lost in 1992 when Hurricane Iniki devastated the property. Decades of stalled redevelopment plans, legal battles, and further damage have left the iconic resort decaying beautifully under Kauai's lush jungle canopy. Though fences keep intruders out, the ghosts of Hollywood legends and honeymoon dreams linger among the overgrown ruins.
