Originally opened in 1929, Piscine Molitor was an Art Deco marvel, known for its avant-garde architecture, fashion shows, and being the birthplace of the modern bikini. Closed in 1989, the site fell into disrepair, its colorful tiles and empty pools covered in graffiti and urban decay. For decades, it served as a beloved haunt for artists and photographers. Though it was eventually restored and reopened as a luxury hotel and spa in 2014, the spirit of its abandoned years lingers in the preserved design details and iconic symmetry—offering a rare story of resurrection from ruin.
