If you have 5-7 hours at Edinburgh Airport, Scotland’s majestic capital awaits. The tram or Airlink bus will have you in the city center in about 30 minutes. Head straight for the Royal Mile, the historic spine of the Old Town. Walk its cobblestone length, from the grandeur of Edinburgh Castle at one end down towards the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Absorb the medieval architecture, listen for the skirl of bagpipes, and perhaps duck into a traditional pub for a quick haggis bonbon or a wee dram of whisky. It’s a potent shot of Scottish history and atmosphere.
