Based on Al Capp's satirical comic strip "Li'l Abner," Dogpatch USA offered a quirky slice of Ozark hillbilly theme from 1968 to 1993. Financial mismanagement led to its closure, leaving behind rustic buildings, defunct rides, and whimsical statues representing characters like Mammy Yokum and Earthquake McGoon. The park decayed slowly amidst the Ozark forests, its unique theme making the abandonment particularly surreal. Though parts have been sold or damaged by time, its distinct remnants provided fascinating exploration and photo opportunities for years.
