12. The Basalt Organ Pipes of Fingal’s Cave, Scotland

Fingal’s Cave on the uninhabited Isle of Staffa in Scotland is a natural masterpiece of hexagonal basalt columns, similar to the Giant’s Causeway but even more dramatic. The acoustics inside the cave are so incredible that it inspired composer Felix Mendelssohn’s "Hebrides Overture". When the waves crash into the cavern, they produce haunting, almost musical echoes, making it a one-of-a-kind natural concert hall.
