Designed by architect Paolo Soleri, Arcosanti is an experimental town and educational project based on "arcology" (architecture + ecology). Students and volunteers help construct its unique, organic concrete structures, designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing community interaction. Still partially inhabited and offering workshops, Arcosanti feels like stepping into a retro-futuristic, unfinished dream in the Arizona desert. Its distinctive architecture and ongoing utopian ideals create a truly enigmatic atmosphere, a living laboratory for alternative ways of building and living.
